MATRIX ELEMENTS IN THE FORBIDDEN BETA DECAY OF Ce$sup 14$$sup 1$

The energy and angular distributions of the beta particles from decay of oriented Ce/sup 141/ were measured. These measurements, made with respect to nuclear spin orientation, were used to calculate the contributions of the nuclear matrik elements to the beta transitions. The energy and angular distribution function was determined for the ground-state 580-kev transition. (D.L.C.) (Feb. 1, 1961).
