Additional folding of nuclear DNA is an early event during stimulation of human lymphocytes.

: An increased sedimentation rate of nucleoids can be monitored already 3 hours after mitotic stimulation of human peripheral lymphocytes. Additional folding of DNA onto the nuclear matrix is shown to be causally involved in this effect. The temporal attachments are likely associated with initiation of transcription.
