The synthesis and biological evaluation of a novel series of antimicrobials of the oxazolidinone class.

Abstract A novel series of antimicrobials of the oxazolidinone class is disclosed. These compounds are characterized relative to previously described analogues by a ‘halostilbene-derived’ pharmacophore and demonstrate enhanced antimicrobial activity against key Gram-positive pathogens when compared to Linezolid.
