This study aims to describe the greeting words, the variations of the greeting words, and the factors behind the use of the language used by traders and buyers in Nglangon Market, Sragen. The data in this study are the results of recording which contain the greetings used by traders and buyers in Nglangon Market, Sragen Regency. The primary data source in this study is the conversation between traders and buyers at Nglangon Market, Sragen Regency. The techniques used in this research are listening techniques, recording techniques, note taking techniques, survey techniques. The method used in this research is the split method and the equivalent method. In using this method, the researcher uses one of the techniques in this method, namely the expansion technique, while the equivalent method is a method that is associated with external references that cover people's lives, so that researchers use methods that exist in the matching method, namely the translational method where the tool The determinant is linguistic or other lingual, orthographic method by which the determining device is recording and preserving language or writing. And a pragmatic method where the determining tool is the interlocutor. The validity of the data used in this study used document triangulation. The results of this study indicate that (1) the use of greeting words used by traders and buyers in Nglangon Market, Sragen is Om, Mas, Bang, Mbah, Bu and Bos. The use of the most greeting words is the word Mas as many as 5 words. The greeting words Bang, Mbah and Bos were found once. The greetings used by buyers are: Mas, Om, Bu, and Pak. Meanwhile, the greetings for traders are: Mas, Bang, Mbah and Bos. (2) Variations in the language of greeting words, the most known variation of address words using variations of Javanese and Indonesian, is 3 words. Then the number of variations in Javanese and Indonesian (Non-Standard) is 1, Indonesian Language Variation (Non-Standard) is 1 word, Indonesian Language Variation is 3 words. (3) The factors that influence the use of the address word are situation factors, sociocultural factors,medium factors and place factors.
