Estimation of Phase Separation in ETBE-gasoline Blends

The objective of this paper is to propose a predictive tool for the estimation of phase separation in ethergasoline blends. Firstly, water solubility in ETBE-gasoline blends at different temperature was experimentally performed. Based on experimental results, graphical correlations between phase separation and temperature were obtained for two base gasoline oxygenated by 4-15 vol% ETBE. The least-square regression method was involved to demonstrate that the experimental results regarding the water solubility in various ETBEgasoline blends at various temperatures follows the second order polynomial functions.
