A Combination of Linear Power Flow Models to Reduce Linearization Error

The solution accuracy and efficiency of optimal power flow (OPF) calculation directly determine the economy and safety of power grid operation. The nonlinearity of power flow model leads the non-convex of the economic dispatch model. Linear power flow models are widely used in power systems. Based on general linear power flow model, we combine multiple linear power flow equations with different independent variable functions to obtain a new linear power flow model. A strategy is proposed to build a power flow model library offline. The library could achieve rapid response to different operating condition and further reduce the error of the OPF. The effectiveness and accuracy of the proposed method are verified by OPF calculation in IEEE 30-bus system.
