1.5-octave chirped mirror for pulse compression down to sub-3 fs
2007
We demonstrate numerically and experimentally a chirped mirror with controlled reflectivity and dispersion of up to 1.5 octaves. A complementary pair of such mirrors has a reflectivity of 95% in the wavelength range 400–1200 nm with residual group delay dispersion ripples <100 fs2 in all of this range. The mirror pair allows one to compensate a chirp of the corresponding spectrum (with a smooth phase), resulting in sub-3-fs pulses.
