2015
The YWCA of Spokane is a multi-service non-profit organization committed to eliminating racism and empowering women in the Spokane community for more than 111 years. The YWCA’s three umbrella programs include the Alternatives to Domestic Violence Program, Spokane County’s only staterecognized program for domestic violence; Child Services which includes two sites implementing the Early Childhood Education and Assistance Program; and the Women’s Opportunity Center, an established Workforce Connection Site. These programs benefit more than 13,000 women and children annually. The YWCA of Spokane is the go-to place in the region for services that empower women and children: early childhood education, work readiness resources, support for victims of domestic violence and free childcare. The organization is becoming one of the primary community resources for issues of racial and social justice.
