Semantic Personalization Framework for Connected Set-Top Box Environment
2009
This paper proposes a semantic enhance personalization framework for connected set-top-box (STB) home environment. It introduces the mobile phone as context-sensor. Furthermore, semantic web technologies are used to develop user profile ontology and content ontology based on TV-Anytime specification. This paper also proposes a simple STBcentric match making algorithm by leveraging the Semantic Web Rule Language (SWRL). In addition to user preferences the match making algorithm also incorporates the virtual group preferences and user context to provide a personalized list of contents and interactive services. The implementation of key components of the framework is performed in order to show the feasibility of the approach.
