Integration einer expansionsmaschine in ein CO2-Kältesystem

An expander with work recovery improves the COP of transcritical CO 2 refrigeration cycles. If one chooses a three-stage expander, it is advantageous to introduce a vapour-liquid separator between the second and third stage of refrigeration. The separated vapour is expanded in the third stage of the expander, whereas the liquid flows on medium pressure level to the cooling stations, where it is throttled by a thermostatic or electronic expansion valve.
