Oxidation of Cyclohexane Catalyzed by Encapsulated Ironporphyrin

2007
A new iron(Ⅲ) porphyrin catalyst encapsulated in the copolymer of styrene and divinylbenzene was synthesized. The best particle morphology was obtained when molar ratios of styrene to divinylbenzene was 1∶1 and stirring rate was 800 r/min.The catalysts were characterized by FTIR and SEM.The catalytic properties in the oxidation of cyclohexane were tested using iodosylbenzene as oxygen donor and the oxidation products were analyzed by gas chromatography. The encapsulated catalyst had higher catalytic activity than ironporphyrin without encapsulation. When the particle size of the catalyst was 30~50 μm,the yield of cyclohexanol was 73.5%.After reuse for 5 times, the catalyst was still stable and the yield of cyclohexanol was 63.1%.
