Reliability models have been designed for typical schemes of steam-power, gas turbine and combined cycle plants. A study of the power units' circuits reliability, taking into account the steam-power equipment of power units, was carried out. The results of calculating the reliability indicators of the indicated schemes are obtained and the need to take into account the heat-power part of power units when calculating the reliability is substantiated, including in the conditions of allocating the power unit for powering the power plant's auxiliary installations and local consumers in the event of an accident in the power system and disconnecting the power plant from it
