Evaluation on soil heavy metal pollution around typical lead and zinc mining areas in Guizhou.

The soil heavy metal pollution of the typical lead and zinc mining areas was studied by using single factor pollution index and N.L.Nemerow comprehensive pollution index by analyzing 27 samples of surface soil collected from the typical lead and zinc mining areas according to different sampling sites and parts in Guizhou.The results showed that there was great difference in soil heavy metal pollution degree between different samples and there was no or little pollution of Cu,As and Cr heavy metals but Cd,Zn,Hg and Pb heavy metals had polluted the soils of tested mining areas,which expresses the soil heavy metal comprehensive pollution is relatively serious in two tested mining areas.
