Maternal-infant bonding.

1978
Maternal-infant bonding is a vital process which begins in early infancy and continues over the next few years. The bonding process has tremendous implications for both mother and child and is affected by many factors. Bonding problems occur and the family practitioner can identify these potential problems before pregnancy, during pregnancy, and in the postpartum period, and arrange assistance so the bonding process can unfold normally.
