Design of Wireless Marine Acoustic Sensor Network

2012
We design energy and throughput efficient protocol for dense marine sensor networks. The challenges of high latency enable new techniques and provides good throughput. Further it will be a low cost, rapidly deployable sensor network. We address the primary issues of cost and high-level integration. The strategy for nodes and network is to combine inexpensive materials and to manage 802.11b based communications. The wireless network can use modified 802.11b technology and can operate in the 2.1 GHz ISM band. Dual radio access routers were preferred, which allow the system higher throughput and ease of deployment.
