The application of ketamine combined with propofol anesthesia in intervention therapy for infantile congenital heart disease and its effect on atrial natriuretic peptide

2007
Objective To assess the safety and efficacy of continuous intravenous administration with ketamine combined with propofol for children undergoing cardiac catheterization procedures and its effect on atrial natriuretic peptide(ANP).Methods Forty ASA I orⅡchildren in transcatheter closure of congenita heart disease, aged 2 yr~7 yr,weighing 11~25 kg,were randomly divided into 2 groups(n=20 in each group).ketamine group received ketamine for maintenance of anesthesia, however, propofol group received propofol. The concentration of ANP was determined after going into operation room and 15 minutes for maintenance of anesthesia,at the same time,HR and SpO2 were recorded. Results There were 2 cases of transient strangulation in ketaminegroup, but only 1 case in propofol group, and the patients relieved by inhaling oxygen withthe jaw raised, there were no statistically significant differences in SpO2 between the two groups(P0.05).The HR and ANP were significantly higher at T2 than those at T1 in ketamine group(P0.05),but which had no difference in propofol group.T2 in ketamine group was obviously higher than that of propofol group(P0.05).Conclusion Propofolhas no obvious effect on ANP,and ketamine combined with propofol anesthesia is a good way for children undergoing cardiac catheterization procedures.
