Associação entre aptidão física e estilo de vida em adolescentes entre 12 e 15 anos

2021
Adolescence is characterized by the learning of new practices, which can lead to healthy choices or not, taking with it its consequences for adult life. Objective: With this, the objective of the present study was to verify the association between physical sex and the lifestyle of adolescents between 12 and 15 years of age. 1,161 adolescents from public schools participated in the study. Sex and age, body mass, height and waist circumference were collected. Then, a questionnaire with lifestyle factors was applied: a) level of physical activity, b) sedentary behavior, c) eating habits, d) consumption of tobacco and alcoholic beverages. PROESP-BR (2016) protocol was used to assess physical fitness: flexibility test, IMF, FMS and agility. After collection, the data were submitted to statistical analysis using the Statistical Package for the Social Science, version 26.0. Descriptive statistics were used: Komolgorov-Smirnov (normality), U-Mann-Whitney (comparisons), Chi-Square (comparisons of proportions) and Spearman (correlations), adopting p <0.05 for significant differences. Most adolescents were classified as at risk in the IMF, FMS and agility tests, low level of physical activity, inadequate eating habits and excessive hours in sedentary behavior. The strongest correlation was between nutritional status, low level of physical activity and physical fitness. From the results obtained, it can be pointed out that there is an association between the indicators of physical fitness, overweight/obesity, abdominal obesity and risk factors related to lifestyle in adolescents.
