Çocuklukta Görülen Bir Konjonktival Yassı Epitel Hücreli Karsinom Olgusu

2005
A case of conjunctival squamous cell carcinoma and the treatment methods are discussed with respect to a case with findings arising at an uncommon age and sex. An eleven years old girl applied to our out patient clinic with a mass on the lefte eye. Parents informed that the mass showed enlargement. There was a mass located on the temporal part of the left eye 3 mm lateral from limbus. The dimensions of the lesion was 3t3 mm and it was a vascularized, mobile, keratinizated and brown mass. Excision of the mass with a lateral margin of 3 mm, combined with couterization of the bases was performed. Mitomycin C was locally applied of 0.2 mg/ml for about two minutes use of sponge. The mass was reported as conjunctival squamous cell carsinoma after histopathological examination. Four months after the operation there was no evidence of recurrence. Conjunctival lesions should bring into mind to possibility of conjunctival squamous cell carsinoma even if it apprears at an uncommon age and sex, and should be treated with appropriate methods.. Key words: Conjunctival squamous cell carcinoma, Excisionel biopsy, Childhood.
