A Simple Transfer Tube for Liquid Helium

This paper describes a transfer tube for liquid helium which is rather simple in concept and easier to construct and use than those described in the literature. Since the advent of the nitrogen-shielded storage dewar for liquid helium, the transfer of liquid from the storage container to an experimental cryostat has become a routine procedure in many laboratories. Recent books by Scott [1] and White [2] discuss the problem of transfer of liquid helium and describe some appropriate transfer lines.
