Crystal and molecular structure of [1,2-bis(diethylphosphino)ethane mono-oxide-P,O]trichloro-oxomolybdenum(V)

The novel diphosphine mono-oxide complex [MoCl3O{Et2PCH2CH2P(O) Et2}] forms from the oxidation by adventitious oxygen of the mixture produced in the reaction of HCl with [Mo(N2)2(depe)2](depe = Et2PCH2CH2PEt2). The structure of this new complex was determined.
