Study on brain electrical activity in patients with memorial impairment Parkinson disease

2005
Objective: To compare the changes of electroencephalogram(EEG) in patients with memorial impairment Parkinson disease (experiment group) and normal senile people (control group). To explore the relationship between brain electrical activity and Parkinson′s memorial impairment.Method:The memorial performance were tested with clinical Memorial Test in 140 patients with Parkinson disease and 35 control persons. EEG were performed in 50 patients with memorial impairment PD and control group.Result:The abnormality rate of EEGs was significantly higher in the experiment group than the control group(P0.01); The low wave amplitude, low wave frequency, low indiex or generalized α wave of EEG were significantly higher in experiment group than in the control group(P0.01 or 0.05). The detection rate of θ wave and δ wave were significantly higher in experiment group than in the control group(P0.05). Conclusion:The memorial performance and EEG are valuable tools to evaluate cognitive function impairment in PD.
