Prediction of vaporization efficiencies for multicomponent mixtures by use of existing correlations for the vapor and liquid film coefficients

Abstract A formula for the prediction of vaporization efficiencies by use of the number of transfer units for the liquid and vapor phases is developed and its use is demonstrated. This formula provides a simple and accurate method of making use of the vast body of existing data in the form of Murphree efficiencies for binary mixtures for the prediction of the efficiencies for multicomponent mixtures.
