General G-matrix imaging method for near-field millimeter-wave SAIR with any arrays

2018
For utilizing array antennas effectively, various array configurations are used in millimeter-wave synthetic aperture imaging radiometer (SAIR). However, existing imaging methods are usually adapted to specific arrays, can't be used to compare the imaging performance of SAIRs with different arrays. To overcome this shortage, a General G-matrix Imaging Method (GGIM) is proposed in this paper. For reconstructing the millimeter-wave images accurately, the General G-matrix model with high accuracy is established according to near-field synthetic aperture imaging principle firstly. Then the reconstruction is performed by solving the underdetermined G-matrix equation. Compared to other imaging methods, the proposed GGIM can be used in arbitrary SAIRs, and its inversion accuracy is higher than the traditional imaging methods.
