Characteristics of the bremsstrahlung reflected by inhomogeneous media

An experimental study is reported of the energy spectrum and angular distribution of γ rays scattered by two-component powdered mixtures and solutions in a thin-walled shell during irradiation by bremsstrahlung in a betatron. These experiments were carried out to assess the possibility of measuring the concentrations of the basic elements in inhomogeneous media by means of the energy spectrum and angular distribution of the reflected bremsstrahlung.
