Fiber optic localized surface plasmon resonance sensor for detection of chromium ion impurity in water

2020
We report the detection of Chromium ion impurity in potable water using fiber optic sensor probe work on the principle of localized surface plasmon resonance (LSPR). Fiber optic sensor probe has been developed by coating Silver nanoparticles on the unclad region of optical fiber via simple and low-cost photosynthesis technique with illumination time 4.5 minutes. EDAX and SEM analysis confirmed the coating of Silver nanoparticles on the unclad portion.
