Google App Analysis

2019
With the widespread use of smart phones, the importance of cellphone apps is emerging in our daily lives. The rating of an app impacts the number of downloads which may further influence the spread of the app. In order to explore the underlying behavior of apps’ ratings, a research was conducted analyzing rating related data that involves multifaceted factors. Establishing statistical models such as “Generalized Additive Model” provides a conceptual framework for the study and is instrumental in predicting the missing ratings. A number of conclusions are drawn from these models including identification of the non-linear relationship between log installs and ratings, and the positive relationship between log reviews and ratings given number of log installs.
