FULL-COLOR ANALOG TFT-LCD DRIVER
1998
We developed a full-color analog active-matrix LCD (AMLCD) driver (analog source driver) for SVGA and XGA panels. To provide full-color (16.7M-color) display, we designed a new sample/hold circuit that can handle high-speed video signals (up to 25 MHz). To reduce the power consumption, we designed a new control circuit that makes it possible to reuse the charges on the TFT-LCD. The output voltage of the analog source driver is up to 12 volts and, therefore, horizontal/vertical (H/V) inversion driving is supported. We also propose analog current differential signaling that eliminates the problem of electromagnetic interference (EMI) at the video bus between a PC and an AMLCD module. © 1998 Scripta Technica, Electron Comm Jpn Pt 2, 81(6): 43–51, 1998
