A system and a method for controlling digital content to guarantee a right to be forgotten are provided. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the method for controlling volatile content which includes: a step that a volatile content control system receives a request for posting content from a poster terminal; a step that the volatile content control system controls the content to be posted; a step that the volatile content control system checks status information which includes at least one among the posted time of the volatile content and the number of predetermined activities which are applied to the volatile content if the content is volatile; and a step that the volatile content control system controls the volatile content to be volatile if the status information of the volatile content satisfies a predetermined volatile condition.
