Observation of thirteen new exclusive multibody hadronic decays of the ψ(2S)

Using data accumulated with the CLEO detector corresponding to an integrated luminosity of L=5.63 pb{sup -1} on the peak of the {psi}(2S) [3.08x10{sup 6} {psi}(2S) decays] and 20.70 pb{sup -1} at {radical}(s)=3.67 GeV, we report first measurements of the branching fractions for the following 13 decay modes of the {psi}(2S): {eta}3{pi}, {eta}{sup '}3{pi}, {rho}K{sup +}K{sup -}, K{sup +}K{sup -}{pi}{sup +}{pi}{sup -}{pi}{sup 0}, 2(K{sup +}K{sup -}), 2(K{sup +}K{sup -}){pi}{sup 0}, {rho}pp, pp{pi}{sup +}{pi}{sup -}{pi}{sup 0}, {eta}pp, ppK{sup +}K{sup -}, {lambda}{lambda}{pi}{sup +}{pi}{sup -}, {lambda}pK{sup +}, and {lambda}pK{sup +}{pi}{sup +}{pi}{sup -}, and more precise measurements of 8 previously measured modes: 2({pi}{sup +}{pi}{sup -}), {rho}{pi}{sup +}{pi}{sup -}, 2({pi}{sup +}{pi}{sup -}){pi}{sup 0}, {omega}{pi}{sup +}{pi}{sup -}, K{sup +}K{sup -}{pi}{sup +}{pi}{sup -}, {omega}K{sup +}K{sup -}, {phi}K{sup +}K{sup -}, and pp{pi}{sup +}{pi}{sup -}. We also report new branching fraction measurements of {phi}{pi}{sup +}{pi}{sup -} and {omega}pp and upper limits for {eta}{pi}{sup +}{pi}{sup -}, {eta}K{sup +}K{sup -}, and {phi}pp. Results are compared, where possible, with the corresponding J/{psi} branching ratios to provide new tests of the 12% rule.
