Brief Introduction of Common Animal Models for Pulmonary Hypertension

Pulmonary hypertension(PH)is a disease with the main characteristics of pulmonary artery vasospasm,intmial hyperplasia and remodeling lesions,microthrombosis formation and increased pulmonary vascular resistance,which leads to right-sided heart failure,functional limitations,and ultimately death.The methods for animal models construction including:chronically hypoxic,monoerotatine injection,surgical shunt and so on.Here is to describe the principle of each model,production methods,advantages and disadvantages to provide references for selection of the appropriate animal model.
