This paper investigates through art therapy, cognitive and emotional aspects of children and adolescents, an age group 8-13 years, of both sexes, to be admitted to a surgical treatment in hospital grounds of the AACD, and a second time to remain hospitalized for post-surgical therapeutic treatment; and how these are in relation to these aspects when discharged from hospital after interacting through art therapy. We sought to contribute to the health of hospitalized children and their school reintegration, through the construction of knowledge of hospital experience and the appropriation of the senses, with special attention to cognitive and emotional aspects of the child and his family, recovering partly socialization through the design and diverse artistic expressions, reaffirming the social function and art therapy.
