Pseudoaneurysm of Abdominal Aorta in Behcet's Disease: A Late Complication of Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Surgery

2003
Behcet’s disease is an inflammatory disorder characterized with recurrent oral apthous ulcers, genital ulcers, uveitis, skin and vascular lesions. Cases of this disorder cluster along the ancient Silk Road from Eastern Asia to the Mediterrenean Basin and are most prevalent in Turkey. Surgical treatment of vascular lesions in Behcet’s disease are reported to have poor results with occlusive complications as well as pseudoaneurysm formation. We report an endovascular repair (EVAR) of a patient who had a pseudoaneuyrsm originating at the distal suture line of the patch repair for an anteriorly-localized abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA).
