Applying spreadsheets in physics and electronic engineering

1998
The use of spreadsheets in Physics and Electronics Engineering does not really form two separate topics in mathematical analysis. These two disciplines are closely related in both the types of problems solved and in the methods used for finding solutions to those problems. While calculations in electronics engineering tend to overlap the branches of physics that deal with electrostatics, fields, and waves, the equations being solved overlap many other fields. For example, the physical equations of heat flow and temperature in a solid are identical to those for electrostatic potential and electric field in a solid. In one place a variable is named temperature and in the other it is potential, but in both cases the equations have the same form.
