Non-Gaussian Wind Response and Dynamic Reliability Analysis Of High-rise Structures with 3DOF Analysis Model

2017
By considering the quadratic terms in wind load, the statistical moments of fluctuating wind load until 6 th order are deduced for Davenport spectrum. For 3DOF linear systems, the first 6 statistical moments of the modal response are obtained by employing mode superposition method. The joint probability density function of modal response is then evaluated by applying A-type Gram-Charlier Series expansion. Based on generalized Rice formula, the mean crossing rate and dynamic reliability of modal response are discussed to both Gaussian model and non-Gaussian model. Numerical analysis indicates that for high crossing level issues, requiring non-Gaussian model turns out to be more accurate than Gaussian model. The response process truncated by first 4 statistical moments is conservative due to reliability analysis. Results also indicate that considering only the effort of 1 st mode may overestimate the probability of not crossing the level, especially for high crossing level issue.
