Dual-Site Right Ventricular Pacing In Heart Failure Patients

2003
It is known that monofocal pacing performed at the apical site of the right ventricle is not physiological. It induces an artificial left bundle block, evidenced by the widening of the evoked QRS complex. This pacing also has a deleterious effect on the patient’s hemodynamics, introducing both systolic and diastolic dysfunction that, in most cases, induces an increase in functional mitral regurgitation.
