Provided is a display device with low power consumption. A light resonance plate is used in a backlight unit for the display device. The light resonance plate can extract and output any wavelength region of light from incident white light. The light resonance plate reuses the remaining components that have not been output from the light resonance plate out of the incident white light without generating colored light by absorption. The light resonance plate can, for example, output each of red light, green light, and blue light.
