This paper expounded on the damage of electromagnetic wave pollution on human being and environment.The mechanisms of electromagnetic shielding materials and electromagnetic wave absorption materials were explained and their design principles were discussed.The research progress of electromagnetic shielding materials and electromagnetic wave absorption materials were summarized.Finally the developing trend was pointed out.
