Diabetes is regarded as a severe chronic disease that occurs as a result of genetic and environmental factors. The incidence of diabetes is substantially increasing in Asia and Europe due to the aging population, sedentary lifestyle, and altered dietary pattern. The impacting factors also include sociocultural practices, poverty, ignorance, and environmental factors. This combined with diabetic foot complications has further increased the global concern, where different initiatives are being employed. Major risk factors for the complication include occurrence if the diabetic foot ulcer, which exists in about 26.1 million people, globally. It is integral to understand the different risk factors associated with the diabetic foot, where different strategies and policies can be encouraged which help set and attain realistic goals. This success can be in the form of better metabolic control, delayed occurrence, preventive complications, and improved or sustained quality of life. This requires indulging in collaborative efforts for educating the patients on the right lifestyle choices and how it can improve it. The provided guidelines and strategies can be used for reducing the risk of diabetic foot complications in the two regions. Optimal care must be provided for better health outcomes.
