Effect of Yin-Enriching Fire-Draining and Heat-Clearing Damp-Drying Chinese Herbs on Obesity and Sexual Development Index in Female Rats

Objective To study the effect of yin-enriching fire-draining and heat-clearing damp-drying Chinese herbs on weight reduction and sexual development index(SDI)in rats with alimentary obesity.Methods Chinese herbs were fed to alimentary obesity model rats and their body weight,fatigued endurance,serum sexual hormone and ovarian development condition were tested.Results After model rats were drenched,body weight,blood lipid,incidence of fatty liver,level of E2,frequency of corepus luteum,expression of hypothalamic GnRH decreased obviously.But there was no change in body length and time of weighted swimming.Conclusion Yin-enriching fire-draining and heat-clearing damp-drying Chinese herbs can reduce female rats' body weight and incidence of fatty liver obviously without adverse effect.Its effect may be relevant to regulating gonadal axis and inhibiting sexual precosity.
