A critique of the Forest Stewardship Council chemicals criteria for certification of plantation forestry
2004
Summary This paper examines the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) criteria for use of chemicals in plantation forestry, and an interpretation of these criteria. If fully implemented in plantation practice, these criteria could preclude plantation-based timber industries in developing countries and create serious problems for continuing plantation management in developed countries.
