Study on the dormant physiology of Chinese jujube trees

2006
3-year-old trees of Linyi lizao jujube cultivar cultivated in greenhouse and field were used to study physiological indexes such as the content of water, carbohydrates, free amino acid, free proline and soluble protein etc. during the winter dormant period. The results showed that in the rest period (from 10th October till 10th December) the content of soluble protein, starch, total water, and free water decreased, but the content of soluble sugar, free amino acid, free proline, and bound water increased. The content and variation trends of some physiological indexes were different between the field cultivated and the greenhouse cultivated trees. The total water content and free water content were higher in greenhouse. Bound water content was higher in field. Soluble sugar content of greenhouse was higher in the rest period. Starch content of greenhouse was higher before the rest period. Soluble protein content and free amino acid content of greenhouse were higher in the rest period and lower after the rest period.
