Acetophenones and other constituents from the roots of Melicope erromangensis

Abstract Octandrenolone and five novel related dimethylpyran acetophenones have been isolated from the chloroform extract of roots of Melicope erromangensis and identified by spectroscopic studies and chemical correlations as O -methyloctandrenolone, (+)- trans -3‴,4‴-dihydro-3‴,4‴-dihydroxy- O -methyloctandrenolone, (+)- trans - 3″,4″-dihydro-3″,4″-dihydroxy- O -methyloctandrenolone, and trans -3″,4″-dihydro-3″,4″-dihydroxyoctandrenolone. In addition, four known quinolines and three known flavones have been isolated.
