Video mailbox system and application thereof

The invention discloses a video mailbox system and an application thereof. The system comprises a video intercommunication gateway, a service module, a media server and a data memory module, wherein the video intercommunication gateway is used for triggering the service module by call control; the service module is used for establishing the connection of the video intercommunication gateway and the media server by call control and then playing video and voice to prompt a calling party to record a video message or prompt a called party to selectively watch the video message or change a message mode; the media server is used for storing the video message recorded by the calling party according to a position appointed by the service module and informing the request of selecting and playing the video message or processing the message mode of the called party to the service module; and the data memory module is used for storing user registration information in advance. The invention realizes the video mailbox system based on a mobile video terminal and solves the problem that the prior art only can perform voice messages but can not perform video messages.
