Optic Nerve Sheath Diameter

Ocular sonography with optic nerve sheath diameter (ONSD) does not require specialized skills. This chapter describes the anatomical background supporting the use of ONSD as a surrogate marker of intracranial pressure (ICP). Normal views, technological issues, and methodological aspects are discussed, as well as possible pitfalls and safety concerns.
