A novel bandwidth efficient channel coding scheme for S/P-Replica MT-CDMA systems

In this paper, we analyze the performance of a special kind of multitone CDMA (MT-CDMA) systems that is S/P-Replica MT-CDMA. It is shown that with the same bandwidth, S/P-Replica MT-CDMA system outperforms the conventional system that we name it as S/P MT-CDMA. We also propose a low rate bandwidth efficient channel coding scheme for S/P-Replica MT-CDMA communication system so that by using it, the coded system with the proposed channel coding scheme without using any extra bandwidth, significantly improves the performance of the uncoded system over fading channels. In this paper, we compare the performance of low rate coded and un-coded S/P-replica MT-CDMA systems with the conventional S/P MT-CDMA system over uplink frequency selective multipath fading channels. Our results show that with the same bandwidth, the performance of coded S/P-replica MT-CDMA system with the proposed channel coding scheme is considerably better than the performance of both un-coded MT-CDMA systems.
