Increased lecithin-cholesterol acyltransferase activity in multiple sclerosis patients

Summary Twenty-two Multiple Sclerosis (M.S.) patients and eighteen normal subjects were selected for the study of lecithin-cholesterol acyltransferase (LCAT) activity in plasma. The patients were divided into three groups according to the phases of the disease. The enzymatic activity of the M.S. groups were significantly increased when compared with the controls in all groups.
