Optical and waveguiding properties of PLZT thin films deposited by laser ablation

Abstract Thin PLZT films of various stoichiometries have been prepared by laser deposition. Waveguiding and optical properties were characterised by prism coupling method, spectroscopic ellipsometry and by transmission measurements. The composition was determined by WDX. Changes of refractive index with wavelength are discussed.
