EMISSION OF FAST DEUTERONS IN THE PHOTODISINTEGRATION OF O$sup 1$$sup 6$

1962
The relative yields of photonuclear reactions involving the emission of fast deuterons are determined. It is found that the deuterons are emitted as a result of complex photodisintegrations with the emission of at least one more particle besides the deuteron. Most of the deuteron yield is due to the O/sup 16/( gamma ,dp)C/sup 13/ and O/sup 16/( gamma ,dn)N/sup 13/ re actions. An angular correlation between the directions of emission of the deuterons and accompanying nucleons with energies E > 2 Mev in the O/sup 16/( gamma ,dp)C/sup 13/ and O/sup 16/( gamma ,dn)N/sup 13/ r eactions is detected.
