Breeding of Seedless Watermelon——Wanmi Wuzi No.2

Wanmi Wuzi No.2 is a new red flesh seedless watermelon variety bred by Institute of Horticulture of Anhui Academy of Agricultural Sciences.The plant is vigorous,has good resistance to diseases and is tolerant to stress.The fruit matures about 105 days from sowing and 36 days from pollination.The fruit is high globe with deep dark green skins.Average fruit weight is more than 6.0 kg.Its red flesh is crisp and tasty with little quantities of fibers.The soluble solids content in center is 12.5% and more than 8.5% near rind.The flesh is crisp and flavorful.It is suitable for long distance transport and can be cultivated throughout the country.
