2005
Objective To investigate the prevalence of HGV infection and its association between drug use route, sexual behavior characteritic and HGV infection in Hunan Province. Methods General information of 595 cases from male and female drug abuser' rehabilitation treatment centers through cluster-sampling and questionnaire forms were completed. Their serums were collected and anti-HGV(IgG) were detected by using ELISA method. Data were analyzed by using Chi-square test. Results Total prevalence of HGV infection was 8.7%. The prevalence of HGV infection among parenteral drug users and non-parenteral drug users was 9.59% and 7.39% respectively,no significant difference was existed (P0.05). The prevalence of HGV infection among those with or without a history of extramarital sex was 8.8% and 8.6% respectively, also no significant difference between them (P0.05). The prevalence of HGV infection in groups with different number of sex partners had no significant difference too(P0.05). Conclusion The drug users are the population at high risk for hepatitis G infection. The prevalence of HGV infection of drug users had no significant relation with drug use route, sexual behavior characteristics, perhaps the lower immunity and lesion induced by the drug were the real reason of HGV infection.
